The Great Smoky Mountains 900 Miler Club |
The 900 Miler Club is more than 800 hikers who have hiked EVERY trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and have applied for membership in the Club. The Club was founded in 1995 by "Louisiana" Lou Murray. As of December 7, 2024, there are 869 members of the 900 Miler Club. Here is our current membership list. To join the Club, hike every mile of every current official trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Then submit your application and supporting documentation to the Club, as described below in the Membership section. We created an Excel file listing all the trails and their mileages; you can use this to track your progress and submit your documentation upon completion. PLEASE NOTE: Scott Mountain Trail, while closed for most of the trail, is OPEN and required from Crooked Arm Trail to CS# 6. Additional 900 miler maps can be submitted. We will record them on the membership page. (2X, 3X, etc.) No additional fees are charged past your initial membership, just let us know and send us your records. Many of our members have done two or more maps. We have one member who's done sixteen! Membership The initial fee is $15 with no membership dues thereafter. Print the 900 Miler Club application. Follow the instructions on the form and mail it to the address listed with your check for $15. While the SMHC is gracious in hosting our webpage, the 900 Miler Club is a separate entity. Please make your check payable to Michelle Anderson, not the SMHC. Awards Congratulations! You're a 900 miler. To honor your achievement, you'll receive an official certificate of completion, a sew-on patch, a sticker and a magnet. Any 900 Miler can obtain extra patches ($5), stickers ($2) or magnets ($3) from Michelle Anderson. Also new in 2023 is the 900 Miler Club Etsy store, (https://900milerclub.etsy.com) featuring shirts, ball caps, and fleeces with the 900 Miler logos. All proceeds of items purchased from the 900 Miler Club Etsy store will be donated to non-profit organizations that support the GSMNP. Pictures below in order: sticker, magnet, patch, certificate |
