With luck, we'll see Pink Lady's Slippers (endangered) usually in bloom in May along this hiking & horse trail.  We go northwest from Rich Mountain Gap near the Park boundary above Tuckaleechee Cove, thru Kelly Gap (Campsite #4), Ace Gap (Campsite #7) and .9 mile up Hurricane Mountain to Beard Cane Trail. Return the same way, 11 miles RT, total climb about 1,400 feet, rated moderate.
