This off-trail excursion leads to a waterfall, Courthouse Rock, and eventually to Quilliam Cave. The hike will entail clambering over a few blowdowns and a short steep climb to the cave. After exploring the cave area, we will bushwhack around the adjacent ridge to the Sugarland Mountain Trail, connect to the Huskey Gap Trail and follow it out to Newfound Gap Road and back to the cars. Hike is about six miles and rated moderate. Previous off-trail experience encouraged. Please contact trip leader to get details, including meeting time and place.

Pre-registration is required. Masks are now required for all those participating in carpools, shuttles or key swaps, regardless of vaccination status. You may also choose to drive your own vehicle to the trailhead.

Leaders: Mike Knies and Ken Wise

Leader contact information is included under Additional Information in the email you receive after registration.
