It's 4.7 miles to Upper Buckhorn Gap, or 5.3 miles for those continuing to Buckhorn Gap. 1,100' of elevation gain in the first 3.3 miles to the junction with Meigs Mountain Trail for this out-and-back hike.

Park on the south end of the Metcalf Bottoms lot for a short walk to the trailhead.

Meet at the trailhead ready to start at 8:30 or at the carpool meet-up at the Kroger 244 S Hall Road ready to leave at 7:30. Drive 52 miles RT. $4 suggested to the carpool driver. Rated moderate.
