Since the popularity of hiking in the Smokies is steadily increasing with roads and trailheads getting more crowded every year, the time is right for exploring other ways to navigate to and from trailheads there. On this hike we will take a bus from a meeting place in Gatlinburg to Metcalf Bottoms. We will then hike on the following trails: Metcalf Bottoms, Little Brier Gap, Little Greenbrier, Laurel Falls, and Cove Mountain. We will get off the Cove Mountain trail at Ober Mountain ski resort where we will ride the ski lift down to the lodge. After visiting the lodge, we will ride the tram car to downtown Gatlinburg where we will ride the city trollies back to the meeting place.

Meet at the Gatlinburg Hwy 321Park-and-ride lot, 1222 East Parkway across from Food City ready to leave at 8:30 am. The cost of the shuttle bus is $60 to be split amongst all participants. There will be no cost for the other means on conveyances.

Hike around 9 ½ miles, rated moderately difficult due to the length and around 2300 feet elevation gain.
