We will follow the Little Pigeon River and pass an old CCC camp. The trail starts with a gradual ascent before reaching Cherokee Orchard Road which is the turn around point.

The hike is 7.8 miles round trip with a 1,300-foot elevation gain. The hike is rated moderate.

Meet at Kroger Parking lot at 7:30 am at 244 S Hall road, Alcoa (park at the side of the building near the SE corner). Carpool round trip is 74 miles. Suggested reimbursement to the driver of $5 ($0.07/ mile) or be Sugarlands Visitor Center at 8:45 a.m. Park in the lot near the restrooms.
