Celebrate Valentine's Day by hiking the easy Gatlinburg Trail and have lunch at Howard’s Restaurant before returning to the Sugarlands Visitor Center. Park at the Visitor Center (107 Park Headquarters Rd, Gatlinburg, TN 37738), in the lot to the right as you face the visitor center. Remember to have a parking pass. After sign-in and introductions, be ready to start hiking at 10:00 am.

Hike about 2.5 miles, (1.5 hours) on the Gatlinburg Trail and street to the Howard’s Restaurant, (976 Parkway Gatlinburg, TN 37738) for lunch at 11:30 am. The easy trail passes the historic Park headquarters, home sites and rock walls. Nice views along the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River. Order lunch and pay Individually. Return the same way. Inform me of non-hikers joining the luncheon to help with Howard’s preparations for our visit. You may visit the Sugarlands Visitor Center Natural History Museum and Gift Shop after the hike.

Total 4.6 miles rated easy. If weather is hazardous, you will be notified of cancellation or reschedule (maybe Sunday).
