Join ATC Trail Specialists Jayson Koscielniak and Alexis de Seze for an on-trail learning experience. These guys really know their stuff, having personally surveyed hundreds of miles of the A.T. during the last couple of years. Plan: We will meet at Davenport Gap parking area at 9am. We will start with introductions and tailgate safety meeting. From there we will talk about the basics of trail maintenance, different types of drains, and how water effects trails. From there we will hike north to look at some examples of different drains and talk about how to maintain them. After that we will break off into groups and work on maintaining several of the drains in the area. We will stop around 11:30 for lunch and wrap up around 3pm.
