In 2019, the Board of Directors voted to transfer all SMHC historical files and items from their long-time home at the East Tennessee Historical Center Calvin McClung Collection to the Hodges Library on the University of Tennessee Knoxville campus. The transfer has now been completed.

SMHC Director and vice-president Ken Wise will be working on cataloging and re-archiving our historical archives. Many will be digitized as part of the Great Smoky Mountains Regional Project collections, and made available for online viewing. As this work progresses, we will add links to those materials to this page.

Many of our early member's photographs, documents, and memories were already a part of the Regional Project. We feel that adding our Club records to the GSMRP collection is both quite appropriate and will improve access to them for all.
