Truly one of the iconic East Tennessee hikes, this section of the Appalachian Trail, from Carvers Gap to Highway 19, offers some spectacular views from its grassy balds. Little Hump Mountain with its beautiful campsites will be our destination for the first day. On the second day, we will climb Big Hump Mountain to get the blood flowing, then hike level to downhill. Hike is 14 miles, seven each day. We will use Mountain Harbor B&B on Highway 19 for parking and shuttle. The shuttle is $10/person and parking is $5/car. Rated moderate. Preregistration required.
