We will start on the Little River Trail past the Elkmont Campground hiking up Little River Trail. We turn right on Cucumber Gap Trail and head back toward Jakes Creek Trail. About 0.2 miles up Cucumber Gap we will cross a small stream (rock hop) and continue down toward Jakes Creek. At Jakes Creek we turn right and walk down to Daisey Town near the parking lot. After exploring Daisey Town (restored vacation cabins from the 1920’s) we will walk down the hill to our cars. The hike is 5.4 miles and rated easy. Carpool from Kroger, 244 S. Hall Road, Alcoa. Park on the side near KARM. Be ready to leave at 8:00 AM. Drive 52 miles round trip. At $0.07/ mile = $3.64 cash to the driver (O.K. to round to $4). Or meet at 9:00AM in the Little River Trail parking lot at Elkmont. The leaders will be at the trailhead. To get to the trailhead. Drive to Elkmont Campground. At the Ranger Station/camper check-in turn left on the road. About a mile up the road you will cross a stone bridge. Just past the bridge is the parking lot.
