We'll meet at the park entrance on Lippencott Street off Chapman Highway. After hiking the ridgetop loop (looking for pawpaw, ash, and sassafras trees), we'll drop down 0.7 mi. to the school grounds and explore the educational opportunities at this Level 2 arboretum, including a fern hollow, wood cookies, 45 labeled native trees, a cemetery, and some nature art. Then we'll climb back to cars for a 3-mile total hike. Somewhat hilly (the only level spot is a bridge) but not hard. Bring clippers if you'd like to attack a little kudzu.
