Please join the hard-core off-trail aficionados on Saturday, November 2, for the Ray Payne Legacy Hike to Mill Creek Falls. The hike to the falls will begin either from Forge Creek Road or the Dan Lawson Place and will follow old roads leading into Sugar Cove. Hopefully, we will locate and visit an enormous chestnut oak estimated to be the largest in the Smokies. After a leisurely lunch at the base of the falls, we will return by the same route or, if we feel reckless enough, will attempt to return by another old road leading from the falls to Cobb Ridge. Hike is rated difficult. Previous off-trail experience required. Register with leader for details on time and place.
