For the Centennial, the Club is sponsoring twelve Legacy Hikes, all named for former SMHC members who were either instrumental in the founding of the club or in exploring the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, or both. The Legacy Hikes are all off-trail hikes, and as such, are open only to SMHC members, through the usual registration process. The Legacy Hikes are listed below and with their descriptions in the 2024 Handbook.
